It’s no secret that Proverbs happens to be one of my favorite books in the Bible. In fact it ranks right up there with Job. So when Courtney mentioned that is where God had lead her to take this study next I may have been a tad over the moon. Besides after Leviticus I needed something a little more easy to digest.
Many people like to comb through Proverbs for the witty phrases that it holds. I must admit there are some great ones. However, Proverbs is so much more then that. The whole purpose of Proverbs is to provide it’s reader with wisdom.
The Purpose Of Proverbs:
All through Proverbs one thing you will find is that it promotes and strongly encourages Godly character traits.
Of course there is a whole chapter devoted to helping us women to become not only pleasing to our husbands but to God.
Proverbs has a strong regard to wisdom.
It causes you to think about who you are gaining wisdom from, the ways that you are promoting wisdom in others.
It also cause you to do a whole lot of self evaluations.
Proverbs provides us with instructions on how to maintain ourselves, our relationships, our finances and even how to raise our children.
I am so glad that each and every one of you are joining me in this study as I am sure that it will be extremely fulfilling to all who join in.
So How Can You Join In On This Proverbs Study:
Women from literally all over the world have joined in on this Proverbs study and of course there is still time for you to as well. Courtney from Women Living Well has a forum open at the moment that is serving as a place for women to form accountability groups for both for FB and email. However, I must warn you these spots are filling up fast.
Also you can simply join in with other women from your Church and or community. What a great way to form an even greater bond with the women you surround yourself with on a regular basis.
You can also follow these websites, Women Living Well (the official home of Good Morning Girls), Rosilind at A Little R&R, Misty at Beautiful Ashes and Mandy from Worshipful Living. All of us will be posting on what we are finding in this study.
If that wasn’t enough to read or maybe you are also a blogger, Courtney will be hosting a link up every Friday where women from all over will be sharing their posts on this study and what God has revealed to them.
What Do You Need For This Study:
- An open mind to allow God to show you what it is that He has mapped out for you.
- A Bible. I myself will be using my trusty ESV Bible. (This link takes you to a Bible that is very similar to mine)
- Highlighters, colored pencils, crayons and or pens. This is very important if you are planning on color coding as you go. (This links take you the the items that I actually use. Please note they are aff. links)
- Either a notebook, the Proverbs journal or the free printable that is provided by GMG. This is where you will jot down your SOAK‘s.
- Dedication to reading your Bible and being willing to commit to soaking in God’s Word.
Sounds simple enough right?
I can’t wait to go on this journey with you as we continue to grow together spiritually.
Until Next Time Just Keep Soaring 4 Him,
I am blogging through the Bible with some great friends. Each week we share our thoughts on passages that we are reading together through the week. It is amazing to me just how God is laying different things on each of our hearts. You do not have to be a blogger to join in. In fact the main goal of Good Morning Girls is to encourage women of God to dedicate a little of their time each morning to seeking wisdom from God’s Word. To join us simply click on the image below and it will take you directly to Good Morning Girls where you will find our reading plan, free study materials and wonderful words of inspiration.
I would like to invite you to my Facebook group Christian Homemakers in Training where we dive into homemaking, motherhood, marriage and group devotions. After all, we all need a safe place to grow together, right?
