Over the past week social media has been unbearable. I have cried, become angry and felt as though I was going to become physically sick. I have felt as though my voice and God’s Word has been dragged through the mud and the more I have tried to combat this feeling of betrayal within myself tears began to form as I thought about how God is going to react.
Unless you have been hiding in the middle of nowhere then you will more then likely know what has caused me such distress. You even more so understand my distress if you have followed me on this site for very long because I am a firm believer in Biblical marriage. With the Supreme Courts ruling more happened then just the tarnishing of a Biblical union – a division of the people has been broadened even more then it was before. There has even become a division of those who claimed to be part of the Church as they have begun to also shy away from the basic teaching. As a Christian body we have decided to stop talking about topics because they may offend someone that we know (more on this in a later post).
We ourselves have allowed marriage to become what it is today. As a Christian body we have shown the world that marriage is just like any other relationship and sometimes just as sinful. We have said without words but with actions that marriage is not a union that is condoned by God but one that it is just like any other worldly union. One where we can bash our loved one, we can cheat on our love one and when life gets tough we can simply walk away from our loved one because we have lost that loving feeling (please note I do believe that there are reasons for a sound Biblical divorce).
The fact remains that marriage is still a Biblical union no matter what the Supreme court rules. This is where it is important to remember that just because by law it is now legal for the LGBT community to get married it does not mean that it is a union that will be accepted by God. The only thing it is allowing is for them to gain benefits that as a marriage unit have been able to be part of for well since the beginning.
More than ever we have been slapped in the fact with the fact that America is no longer a Christian nation and again this is our fault. Yes it is true we are to blame. We have turned into yet another country who once was blessed by God that has now turned it’s back on God. In the up coming days, months and years I am sure that we will see God’s judgement more and more. But the fact remains that He will care for us and provide for us if we remain faithful.
So where do we go from here many have asked? We continue doing the same things that we were always suppose to be doing. We pray to God daily for those who are lost remembering that no sin is greater then another sin. We need to continue to let our beliefs known even though it means that we will notice our friends separate themselves from us. We also continue to dig into God’s Word striving to walk in the ways that He would have us to do. We must stop making a mocker of the gift of true Biblical marriage that we have been given.
I don’t know what will happen from here. I don’t know what we as a Christian body will suffer through. What I do know is that I serve a God who loves us all and who will always reveal Himself to those who remain faithful. I also know that God blesses those who choose to live a marriage that is following His design.
So Until Next Time Just Keep Soaring 4 Him,
I would like to invite you to my Facebook group Christian Homemakers in Training where we dive into homemaking, motherhood, marriage and group devotions. After all, we all need a safe place to grow together, right?
