***I received a copy of this book for review. I did not receive any monetary compensation and only expressed my true feelings**
At a time when we have grown so busy it is hard to find time to actually cherish what little time we have with our children. After all we have house work to get done, Church activities, sport practices and well what ever else is thrown into our lives. We sometimes forget to just stop and take a couple minutes to soak in the awesomeness that God has given us…. Our families.
That is why when I was given the chance to review the book The Cherished Home by Mary Clendenin I jumped on the chance to read it. I to struggle to remember that though my ministry is important that I also have to take steps to make sure that those in my home feel just as cherished. It is easy to think that they feel they are but it is even more important to make sure to strive that we are doing everything possible to know that they are.
In this book Mary discuses all kinds of ways that we can implement simple and easy things that will not only show our family that we care but to create memories that they will remember for a life time. I have actually been trying out some of the idea from the book in my home the past couple of weeks and I can already see a huge difference. My kids seem to be acting nicer to each other and everyone seems to appreciate family times a lot more.
Now this book does not only cover ways to show love to others in the home. It also gives helpful advice on how to care for yourself as well. I mean as moms we seem to always put ourselves on the back burner which in turn means that we can not give our family our best.
I think that this book is a breath of fresh air. A wonderful reminder to take time to slow down and cherish this season of life that we are in. I highly recommend this book to all moms and wives out there.
