Allowing God complete control of my life has been extremely hard for me. Every day I am in a constant battle with my own human emotions and thoughts. To this day, God is still revealing to me areas of my life that I am holding on to for just myself. He reminds me often that He needs all of me….Completely. What can I say I am still a work in progress.
This week I was reminded of God’s promises and provisions. Since striving to yield everything over to Him we still have hard times and yet God has been faithful to provide us with our needs and even a few of our wants.
But there will be no poor among you; for the Lord will bless you in the land that the Lord your God is giving you for an inheritance to possess if only you will strictly obey the voice of the Lord your God, being careful to do all this commandment that I command you today. Deuteronomy 15:4-5
This is why it is so critical that we open up God’s Word daily and study scripture for ourselves. After all, if we don’t we can miss out on important instructions and ultimately miss out on some blessings.
If we don’t seek out instruction how else are we suppose to know what we need to pursue in our own personal lives and ministries?
This week I was also reminded that God expects us to give back.
You shall furnish him liberally out of your flock, out of your threshing floor, and out of your winepress. As the Lord your God has blessed you, you shall give to him. ~Deuteronomy 15:14
We can not simply sit back and receive blessings and not give back. God showers us will blessings and it is our duty to pass them along!
God Wants Us to Give Willingly
- Of our time
- Of our money
- Of our belongings.
After all, He is the one who blesses us with so much. Shouldn’t we use what we have been given to give back to those around us?
Until Nest Time Just Keep Soaring 4 Him,
I am blogging through the Bible with some great friends. Each week we share our thoughts on passages that we are reading together through the week. It is amazing to me just how God is laying different things on each of our hearts. You do not have to be a blogger to join in. In fact, the main goal of Good Morning Girls is to encourage women of God to dedicate a little of their time each morning to seeking wisdom from God’s Word.
