Anytime one tries to cultivate their heart for change of any kind it takes a lot of work, dedication and a whole lots of God’s divine help. When Tauna asked me to do a guest post for you all I must admit I was a bit fearful. Fearful because this required me to analyze what I have been doing and seek God’s guidance in what I needed to change. This has been one of the hardest posts I have written not because I feel I am perfect but because it brought out so many areas I need to cultivate in my own life.
My main word for 2014 is focus. Focusing on those things that really matter, my home, my children, my marriage and my online ministry. The one thing I found that needed the most work was my focus as a parent. In 2013 I spent so much time and energy working on building my online ministry and helping in other ministries. As I pondered it, I realized I was neglecting the most important ministry that God has entrusted in my care….. My children. Though this year I will not be stopping my work in all these other areas, because they are also important, I have however, been working toward freeing myself up to be more available for those inside my home. After all, if I don’t teach them about God’s love who will?
Mom’s, I truly believe our main ministry should be focused on our children. We are after all their main teachers in life. Our children look to us to teach them about not only school related topic, they also look to us to teach them about spiritual matters as well. They also seek our guidance on all matters in life. Now I am not saying that this is only important when they are little this job is never ending, I am saying however, that when they are younger we must plant the seeds that will help them grow along their Christian walk.
