One of my top concerns, when I think about what I am teaching my children, is am I molding their character and am I promoting them to be the best people that they possibly can be. After all, in a world that is ever changing and steering away from Christian values the pressure is on us as parents more than ever. Yet , sometimes we are a little confused on how it is that we are supposed to teach our children these character traits. I mean we can lecture, talk and discuss but if your children are like mine then they want to discover answers for themselves and this is a great thing!!
A dear friend has recently developed something to help us, parents, out. It is called My Character Matters and it can be used as a Bible curriculum if you are homeschooling family or even a family devotional for those who don’t homeschool. The beauty about this program is that it is easy enough for elementary students who can read to do independently and yet it is flexible enough that even the parents can jump right in there. After all, even parents need reminders from time to time am I right?
Inside the downloadable curriculum, your child will discover 30 different character traits. Each one requires the child not only to look up the definition to the word but it also encourages the child to find Bible verses that pertain to that particular trait. For the parents, there is a parent guide that maps out all the different ways you can use this curriculum and yes it even has the answers included. During the launching period, there is also a free game that will be emailed directly to you within a few days of your purchase that helps the children commit what they have learned to memory.
I would love to know some helpful resources that you are currently using to help mold your children’s character.
