being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6
I have moments sometimes where getting out of bed seems to be the biggest hassle. I have moments where I feel like all the things that I do maybe doesn’t matter. I have times when the burden that God has laid on my heart just seems like way to much to bare. It is in these moments I have to be careful. Because in those moments is when I am doubting my placement, doubting my abilities and I am doubting myself. You see I look in the mirror and sometimes I don’t even recognize the person starting back at me. Because I am different. I have been made new. It is wonderful and scary at the same time.
Though I am a new person and creation in Christs I have doubts. I have doubts when it comes to the way I am raising my children. I have doubts about being the wife my husband needs me to be. I haven have doubts about coming on here and sharing with you all. You see our old nature still creeps in from time to time. It’s purpose is to give us doubt. It is suppose to make us doubt our self so much that we no longer feel worthy of God because in those moments we start taking steps away from God….Satan then wins. That is why studying our Bibles is so important. That is why constant communication with God is a must. We need that sense of direction that open communication with our Father can bring. We need those moments alone with Him in our prayer closet so that He can guide and direct us.
God is not done with me and He is not done with you. Until the day we draw our last breathes and move on to the promise land He is working on us. He is here to provide us with the direction we need. God is not going to leave us broken and unfinished. He will complete what He started in each and everyone of us. If we allow Him.
Three things that help me during my times of doubt are:
- I know I am right where God wants me to be: He provided me such a burden to reach out to others. When I go a day or two without reaching out to you all then I feel lost. Where you are suppose to be may be different from me and that is ok we all have special talents that God has provided us with. Talk with God see where He wants you to be.
- It is totally worth it: I once had a very close family member tell me I should walk away from this adventure and do something worth something. Shortly after I received an email that said that this site brought her such encouragement. Yes, I believe God knew I need the encouragement and God laid it on that lady’s heart to do so. Serving God the way He wants you to is totally worth it! In the low times God sends us the encouragement we need.
- God is not finished with me or He wouldn’t continue to lay things on my heart: I truly believe when it is time for me to end the journey here I will know it because God will stop providing me with things that He wants me to share with you. He will stop opening doors for new ways for me to serve Him. No God is never done with us. He as something for us to do for Him in every season of our life. When we have caring for our families we are doing so to glorify Him which in turn helps provide our family with an example. When we meet up with our girlfriends and provide wisdom we are again being used as a ministering tool for Him. He lays on our hearts what He wants from us. It is up to us to do it. When we do complete that certain task then spiritual growth is soon to follow.
God wants to use us. He wants to show us how to use His talents but it is up to us to grasp the reins and go along for the ride. When we refuse to use our talents the way God wants us to you better believe He will keep on coming back because He is not done with us. Doubt will creep in and that is when we need to cling to Philippians 1:6 and remember that we need to be confident God is going to continue His work in us. This work will continue until the day we draw our last breath or Jesus comes back. Do not allow discouragement bring you down and let you miss out on the blessings that you can receive.
Yes you will lose friends on this journey. You will stumble . Yet that is just a reminder that we are still growing and learning. You are constantly changing and evolving. Cling to God during those dark moments. Talk to those who God puts in your path. Allow Him to provide you with comfort that only He can provide in the way that He sees fit.
