During this weeks reading with Good Morning Girls we are introduced to a new person….Joseph. If there is one thing that I have learned from Joseph it is that sometimes God has to humble us so that He can use us. We know that early on Joesph was his fathers favorite. We also learn that because of this that Joesph’s brothers resented him. This resentment caused his brothers to plot against him.
But God was in control……..
Even though the brothers original thought was to kill him, God changed Rueben’s heart so that instead Joesph would be thrown into a pit. Subsequently these pits were normally filled with water and this one just happened to be dry!! Just as we thought things could not have gotten worse for Joesph, his brothers sale him to merchants. Now we all know later on that this actually worked out to fullfil a far greater purpose but I won’t go into all that this week.
Something that just just kept coming back to my mind this week that was Joesph was blessed even though his situation seemed very dire. Sure he didn’t see the plans that God had for him. And I am sure this possibly caused him to wonder what in the world was he going to do. I am sure this caused him great pain. I mean his own brothers sold him like a piece of merchandise!
But God was in control……….
Just as we see that things were going well with Joesph we see that once again Joesph is being tested. This time Joesph is being tested by the Potiphar’s wife. Yet, Joesph fled from the temptation he was still punished. I am sure this once again cause Joesph to wonder what in the world was going on. After all Joesph was doing all that he thought was right.
But God was in control……..
The LORD was with Joseph so that he prospered, and he lived in the house of his Egyptian master. Genesis 39:2
How Can We Apply This To Ourselves?
When I was younger I had a very, very hard childhood. I could not for the life of me figure out what in the world God was thinking when He put me in the situations that He did. Yet, as I get older I am seeing why it was that I endured all the pain and suffering that I did. It is because of all that pain and suffering that I have the desire to reach young children. It is because of that pain and suffering that I am able to ministry to you all here.
God was in control………
Sometimes God puts us were we need to be so that we can grow closer to Him. More often than not He does so that He can help us build our testimony. God in these bad moments pulls us out and shows us, as well as those around us, just how powerful He is!! He is always with us and He is always in control. Just like He was with Joesph through his trying times. Even when we do not understand. Just as God was with Joseph it is important to remember that ……
God is in control………….
