He replied, “Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you. ” Matthew 17:20
I will never forget the first time holding my Logan (who is now 9) and being amazed at how much faith and trust he had in me. I was in awe of how he just knew I was going to care for him. A woman who didn’t like the sound of babies crying, one who requires all her sleep, one who hates to throw up and can gag on command on anything dealing with bodily fluids. However, he just knew I was going to care for him. I was going to give up sleep, long hot showers, clean non-stained clothing, and did I mention sleep.
My grandmother once told me a child has faith that could move mountains. She then informed me as I was having a mini break down that we should all have that much. It is important, and it is used so much in our relationships with our spouses, children, and GOD.
The definition of faith is complete trust or confidence in someone or something. How many of us have complete trust in our spouses? If you don’t then you may want to take a good hard look at your relationship and figure out why.
How many of us have faith in our children to go to school and do as they are supposed to. If we are doing our job as parents we should be ok, right?
What about the most important relationship of all. Do we have faith in GOD?
I have had so many close calls when my faith in God has been tested, however, I can promise you HE has always been on time every time. He has laid it on someone’s heart to help us, money has been supplied, and all our basic needs have always been met. Because we have faith. It is something that must be worked on daily but is well worth it.
Without faith in God- that everything is going to turn out the way He wants it to, the way it needs to in the grand stream of things. and that everything in life happens for a reason, we have nothing.
So I ask you do you have faith enough to lay your problems at GOD’s feet and know that it is all going to go as it needs to? Or enough to know HIS way may not add up to what we wanted but what we needed to trust that decision?
