Ask any woman how they feel about housework and 90% of the time you will hear them let out a giant sigh. Ask a mom and more than likely you are going to hear them say “What’s the point?” Serving in our homes has become a burden. We see it has one big giant chore that is never-ending and somewhat useless. At some point, we forgot that tending to our homes and serving those in our homes is actually a ministry.
Growing a heart to serve in our homes requires us to dig into God’s Word. In fact, part of the reason we harbor ill feelings towards homemaking is because we haven’t developed our servant’s heart enough. Developing the servant’s heart, after all, comes from digging deep into scripture which then leads to a conviction by the Holy Spirit.
So what better way to develop this part of our hearts than by seeking out scripture. Here are a few of my favorites that I have placed in various places in my home. I would encourage you to print them out either with the free printable or copy them out by hand.
The Printable Includes These Verses:
- Hebrews 6:10
- Galatians 5:13
- 1 Samuel 12:24
- Romans 12:11
- Mark 10:45
- 1 Peter 4:10
Ways to Develop the Heart to Serve in Your Home:
- Study God’s Word
- Place out reminders that you will see throughout the day.
- Pray over the Scripture daily asking God to help you apply it.
- Seek out like-minded Christian women who can help provide you with encouragement and tips.
