Recently we started a book study over at Marriage, Motherhood and Missions on the book “No More Perfect Moms” by Jill Savage. After reading just the first chapter I have felt liberated!! I have ran around like a chicken with my head cut off for so long trying to make sure my house was in great order and that everything from the outside looking in was perfect. Guess what there is no perfection here in our home. Our home is just that our home. We laugh hard, we play hard and well we make huge messes. So in honor of the book study I will be taking you behind the scenes at various things that has happened in my home. In an attempt to take off my mask. You see I don’t want you all to view me as perfect because there is no perfection here. I am a real life mom who makes mistakes daily and real life wife who makes even more mistakes. And that is ok because God loves me in spite of all my imperfections. So gasp at the pictures and enjoy. At the end of this post there will be a link up for you all to do the same. Take your masks off and together we can start appreciate our short comings then we can start embracing motherhood.
Many of us moms are under the impression that we are suppose to have huge June Cleaver breakfasts. Here my kids love frozen waffles, cereal and our big breakfasts are on the weekends.
We make tons of messes and I decided life is just to short to constantly say that we need to constantly clean up.
Oh yea and because of all that fun we have lots of laundry!
However since I decided to let my hair down and no longer worry about being judged by other moms we have had a blast!!
Since discarding my mask and coming to terms with there being no perfection here not only are my kids happier, I am happier and so is my husband 😉 Don’t forget to check out Chapter 2’s discussion on Marriage, Motherhood and Missions which is live today.
Now For A Little Blog Hopping Fun:
At the end of a long day I love sitting down and reading other’s blog posts. It is then that I can ‘”meet” new people and gain encouragement. Sometimes I even learn a few skills. So it is my privilege to be part of the “Hearts For Home” weekly blog hop.
Of course as standard of all the awesome hosts of the blog hop I had to pick a featured post. Not an easy task when there is so much talent linking up. But I did find one that just screamed to me.
The Good, The Bad and The Ugly of Type A/OCD/Control Freakism by Heather Jadus screamed me in so many ways. It made me laugh and yet it gave others a peak into the life of those who have a little control issues. It was overall a wonderful post.
If you were featured here or any of the other co-hosts sites don’t forget to grab your button 🙂

I loved the post! It seems we are always trying to make things look good, and I am so imperfect! I have so many thing to keep working on! Thanks for sharing!
It is so hard to allow others to share our imperfections with others. Yet if we are going to be honest with both ourselves and others we need to be willing to admit that those imperfections are right there in plain view. I am glad you stopped by and hope you were able to walk away with a bit of encouragement 🙂
It’s so important to remember that we are all perfectly imperfect. 🙂
I totally agree. Thank you for stopping by 🙂
