One of our favorite things to do as a family is to gather around the kitchen table and play board and card games. In doing so we are creating quality time together, building lifelong memories and we are also helping each one of our children fine-tune some of their educational skills. Rosilind from A Little R&R has put together an amazing list of games for any age group to enjoy!
Some of my fondest memories as a kid is sitting down at the dinner table and playing Monopoly, Sorry, Scatergories, Bible Trivia, Clue, Spoons, and more.
We loved playing games!
Since we didn’t have a TV, personal time together happened more frequently than it does for many, and we loved these times.
Not only is playing games as a family a great way to bond and create fun memories…
In smaller children, it helps with color/shape recognition, counting, cognitive skills - such as memory building, and hand-eye coordination.
In older children it helps with team building, teaches them to lose well, it helps them learn to strategize and builds patience.

Games make excellent gifts. So, instead of buying your children movies or video games for their birthday or Christmas, consider buying them a board game or card game.
They will build life skills, and the whole family will bond in a way that is memorable and fun!
