As the Christmas season is approaching, I am facing a battle that all Christian parents face. The struggle to allow our children to enjoy the holiday season and the task of molding their hearts to remain Christ-centered.
Hearts for Christmas
In our home, we believe that a child is never too small to explore the Christmas story with wonder. We sit around as a family reading the story together out of the Bible every Christmas Eve night.
Experiencing the Christmas Story
As a parent, we also know that it takes more than that to truly embed the story into a young child’s mind. That is why it is so important to not only read the story from God’s Word but to allow them to experience it from all other angles.
For our family, this means: Reading books, singing songs, doing crafts, watching plays and reminding them over and over again of the great importance of the season.
Recently, I was given the chance to experience a book that I think will help out in this area, A Very Merry Christmas Prayer (A Time to Pray).
This book immediately captured my children’s attending because of the colorful pages and creative design. It continued to hold their attention as the book continued to sprinkle in bits of family traditions and Biblical truths into their minds. They walked away asking questions and wanting to gain answers.

We actually loved this book so much that I wanted to host a giveaway so that your family would be blessed with this little gem yourselves.

One of our favorite traditions during Christmas is watching Polar Express, fixing hot chocolate, and then driving around looking at lights.
Polar Express is one of our favorite movies here 🙂 Thanks for stopping by.
We like to listen to Christmas music while decorating the tree.
Oh yes Christmas music while decorating is a must!
