Over the past year I have been amazed at all the things that God has revealed to me. Not only in my marriage but in my motherhood adventure. What has surprised me even more is the things that He has revealed to me in my spiritual walk. This year I with the seer intent that my ministry at Becoming A Godly Wife would not be my own. Instead I handed all my writing and all the ministry building over to Him. This has proved to be quite a challenge for me as I see others doing so many other things. Yet, this has also proven to be the most beneficial to me and the ministry. The ministry has indeed been blessed this year, growing slowly but oh so much larger than I ever thought it would. In doing so it also allowed God to use me in other on-line ministries which has been a true blessing due to the friendships that have developed from these chances.
God also caused me to step out of my comfort zone this year. I am a very guarded person and yet this year God has decided to force me to break those walls that I built around myself down. From sharing my personal testimony on Women Of Worship to actually teaching adult women at my Church. Yes, God is causing me to step away from my comfy zone and reaching further within myself than I have ever reached before. I must say it has been scary and exciting all in one. One thing I am learning though is to lean on God more and less on my instincts.
In my marriage God is constantly showing me areas that I can grow. The most recent revelation was the amount of time I was spending with my husband. I was outsourcing way to much of my time on things that truly my heart was not in. The problem with this is I was not doing those things effectively and I was causing my poor husband to take a back seat way more then any man should have to. So far this year I have also come to realize just how patient my husband is. Always willing listen to my blogging rambles and even throwing in some awesome words of encouragement when I need them most. Yes, I have been shown more than once that I am truly blessed in that area. I have also been show ways that I need to show that a lot better.
Friendships this year have also taken a hit. I have met some amazing people. God has place just the people that I have needed when I have needed them in my life this year. Isn’t it amazing how He does that. However, I have also had to weed some people out of my life who were causing me more spiritual harm than good. I was reminded over and over again just how fragile how Christian walk is and how easy those we surround ourselves with can help cause us to falter.
On the motherhood department this year God has revealed to me that it is ok not to be perfect. It is ok to admit that I don’t know what I am doing. In fact it is ok to openly admit that sometimes I, Bridget, make mistakes. And so far the world has not ended because of it. It was revealed to me that my house does not have to be perfect and my children do not always have to be on their best behavior. What is important is that they know that they have a mother who loves God and loves them with every fiber of her being. So that became my new parenting goal this year. To make sure my children see me actively pursuing God. In the same token showing my children the same grace that God shows me daily.
I think however the major thing that has been revealed to me this year is that I am only one person. Recently I had to fact the fact that I can not do everything all by myself. I need help from all those people that God has placed into my life. I am unable to go constantly. I am in fact human and I require rest. So I think that for me has been the most difficult for me to come to terms with. I am a giver and though my heart wants to constantly give, my body will not allow it. So I am being shown what a slower paced life is like.
Yes so far this year God has given me lots of revelations and I am diligently waiting for more to be revealed.

I am dropping by from Good Tips Tuesday. Wow! God has been doing alot in your life. I had to be careful not to compare myself and wonder if I wasn’t following God as well as you are! Really though, It is wonderful when He is helping us learn new things.
Each one of our journey’s are different. I can’t agree more once we start simply following His direction and allowing ourselves to learn from Him it truly is a blessing.
