In our Christian walk, there will be many times that God requires us to step out in faith. More times than not this scares us, the fact is that sometimes stepping out in faith can be paralysing. At the same time stepping out in faith can also be freeing.
In order to be useful servants, we must be willing to step away from all that we know and love. We have to be willing to trust that even though it may not seem like it at the moment that stepping out in faith can mean that we will become far greater in Christ.
And immediately they left their nets and followed him. ~Mark 1:18
The first disciples were willing to drop everything they had known to simply follow Jesus, to learn from Him and to witness first hand the wonders He was going to perform. They didn’t what they were going to do for provisions. They didn’t know the next time that they were going to see their families again. They didn’t even know what they were going to be doing. Nope. They stepped out in blind faith!!
News of Jesus and His power was so great that He began to be sought after by many. Even when Jesus sought out refuge in desolate places, people sought Him out. They stepped out in blind faith!!
Though the requests were made by many Jesus didn’t turn down those who stepped out in blind faith.
Yet, even though the disciples saw all the miracles that Jesus was performing day after day they still had times when they struggled with fear. Fear of the unknown.
He said to them, “Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?” ~Mark 4:40
Faith Can:
- Move mountains
- Provide comfort
- Allow healing
- Teach us life lessons
Faith Can Also:
- Cause us to be uncomfortable
- Force us to enter unknown territory
- Make us question ourselves
Just like the disciples, we must be willing to follow Jesus anywhere. This doesn’t mean we won’t have questions. it does, however, mean that we must be open to all God has to show us.
We must be willing to ask God for help on out journey and we need to have faith that he hears us and will provide all the provisions we need.
Walking a life of faith isn’t suppose to be easy. However, isn’t the end rewards worth it?
Until Next Time Just Keep Soaring 4 Him,
