There are days when everything gets to be too much. The kids are running rampant, the house just doesn’t seem to stay clean (wait this is everyday), bills keep coming in while I am left scratching my head wondering where in the world the money is going to come from and well I thing you get the point. Life can be stressful.
So what does one do when they feel like throwing in the towel. Well we can give up and just let everything fall by the way side. But I think you and I both know that isn’t going to help anything. Instead it is going to only get worse. Or you can try the 4 things listed below and see how they work out for ya 🙂
- Leaning Closer To God: I know often times my biggest problem is I try to handle things all on my own. Now as a Christian I know that this is not how I am suppose to handle things and yet I always seem to let human nature take over. This causes me the biggest grief. Instead take this time to know that God is in control. Trust that He cares for His people and He will provide for you. Pray to Him to help guide you and direct you. All we ever have to do is ask.
- Spend Extra Time For God’s Word: I find the greatest comfort reading God’s Word. The Bible is chopped full of verses to get anyone through anything. God knew we were going to need encouragement for the long days ahead. Take advantage of the Bible. It was written for your encouragement and instruction.
- Lean On Your Spouse: That’s right he is your partner during life’s many twists and turns. Often times they see things differently than you do which can be used for your advantage. After all two heads are better than one. You two can bounce off ideas on how to handle situations. I know for me my husband is my rock.
- Remember this to shall pass: I am reminded of when 4 of the 6 of us were so sick we could barely stand. We all made little beds on the floor in the living room so we could comfort each other. And yet even though things seemed to be the worse as they possibly could be at that moment we had a sense of peace. We knew that we would be ok. We had faith.
What are some things that you do to pull you through the hard times?
