How many of you often have convictions that you deem important and yet are to worried what the world might say so you just keep your convictions to yourself? I think if we are being totally honest we can all say we have been guilty of this one time or another. Afraid to speak our mind because what would our friends think. What in the world would those in our neighborhood think if we were to step out and invite them all to Church? Why they may never open the door for us again!
When God lays things on our heart we should be quick to obey and yet often times we stop and ponder what in the world is doing this certain task going to cost us. When we decided the cost is much to great then we back off and move on to something else. However this causes us to become lukewarm Christians.
So, because you are lukewarm-neither hot nor cold-I am about to spit you out of my mouth. Revelation 3:16
We as Christian women are being watch. We are being watched by our children, our spouses, our neighbors and even those we come in contact with while running our errands. We can’t live as part of the world and still be part of God’s kingdom simple as that. And yet some of us try to conform to be just that. Thinking that we can get away with not doing this or that because well God won’t really mind.
We need to start worrying less about what the world thinks and more about what God thinks. I have a few areas in my own life that I need to do this in. Things that God has revealed to me that I have been neglectful in doing. Not because they were hard tasks but because I was worried what the world would think of me. So it is time that I focus on those things.
Stepping out of our own comfort zone and into God’s desire maybe hard on the social standing in our communities. It may even be hard on our own relationships with friends we have had for a long time. But in the end I want to know that I have done everything I possibly can to be all that God wanted me to be. How about you?
So to stick with my 2014 motto “It’s All About The King in 2014” I am going to do just that. Let those of the world ponder and stare. That is ok because those actions that we take will all be for the glory of God. Those stares will turn into conversation and eventually a living testimony to someone else. Let God be glorified in all that we do at home, in Church, in public, the way we dress, the way we act and in all that we do to touch others. So who is willing to go on this journey with me? Time to go from lukewarm to burning up for Jesus.
Until Next Time Just Keep Soaring 4 Him,
I would like to invite you to my Facebook group Christian Homemakers in Training where we dive into homemaking, motherhood, marriage and group devotions. After all, we all need a safe place to grow together, right?
One of my biggest struggles is fear of man. That is one thing I am working on and I thank you for your post today as it was a reminder to not fear man, but only God 🙂
I understand completely. It is a struggle for me as well. Thank you for stopping by
I really enjoyed your post Bridget. Even though I am a single Christian, I can definitely relate to caring too much about what the world will think of me if I step out on a limb and do what I feel led to do. My prayer is for holy boldness in 2014 and that God will give me the strength to submit to his will in every area of my life. God Bless You!
I will pray right along with you. 2014 will be a great year!!
