Exhausted ……That seems to be how I end all of my days. My daily lists seem to grow longer and for some reason, the hours don’t do the same. There are moments I grow weary and tired. My family depends on me for all their needs. After all to my children, I am their mother, to my husband I am his wife and to God I am a simple vessel that He uses to minister to these 5 souls.
Sometimes it is hard to remember that I am serving a greater purpose. I forget that during the day as I am running around and giving all of myself to the many various activities in our home that not only should I do so joyfully but that I am doing so for a greater purpose.
In our moments of despair, we never seem to remember why it is that we are giving of ourselves to others and why it is that we are always allowing ourselves to be put on the back burner.
Yet, God blesses those who give their all.
And he called his disciples to him and said to them, “Truly, I say to you, this poor widow has put in more than all those who are contributing to the offering box. For they all contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty has put in everything she had, all she had to live on.” Mark 12:43-44
This widow woman showed a great example to us all because she gave her all. Sure she could have simply said she couldn’t give because she had things she needed to do with her money, yet she gave it all to Jesus. Now I think this goes even further than just money. She gave all she had no matter what she actually needed.
She did so with no thought of what it would cost.
She did so joyfully.
She did so without any thought of herself.
Because of this, she was blessed and used as an example to the others.
As a mom, there is no greater blessing than there is when giving of ourselves to our family.
But it doesn’t stop there.
We must be willing to give must be willing to joyfully give our all to our family. In doing so we are teaching our children how to do the same.
We must strive to be a good wife that fits our husband’s needs so that we can be an outward showing to the world what a Biblical marriage looks like.
We serve in our communities because we long to reach others for Christ. Which helps us to fulfill our great commission.
Today as you go about your day and you begin to grow tired, weary and maybe a little under appreciated Know that God sees you. He knows you are giving your all and He is pleased.
Until Next Time Just Keep Soaring 4 Him,
