Busy bodies….We have all seen them, we all know them. In fact, I am one of them. Some feel that the more they do the more likely that they will be viewed as great Christians, some even feel that there is no need for salvation if they simply are a great person who does amazing works. But, the fact remains no matter how much work, good deeds, or amazing accomplishments a person achieves it does not mean that we will ever be good enough to enter the gates of Heaven alone.
To enter Heaven we must have faith. It is through faith in Jesus Christ that we are saved. It is through our faith that we have the ability to serve others in a Christ-like fashion. It is through faith that we long to serve others with all we have in us.
Let me ask you only this: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by hearing with faith? Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh? Did you suffer so many things in vain—if indeed it was in vain? Does he who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you do so by works of the law, or by hearing with faith— just as Abraham “believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness”? Know then that it is those of faith who are the sons of Abraham.
Galatians 3:2-7
Faith can move mountains…..
Faith can heal us when we feel broken….
Faith can help us to stay focused on Christ……
Faith can give us the strength we need to survive in the world we live in……
We receive our salvation by stepping out in faith and trusting in Christ. Jesus Christ the one who died for our sins. The one who knew we would never possibly work our way into Heaven. The one who knew we would never be good enough.
This weekend we will be celebrating just this truth. That our God loved us enough that he offered His Son to us. Jesus took His time here on Earth to walk among us, reaching out to all us sinners and reminding us that we are loved by the highest God. Only for the world to reject Him and hang Him on the cross where He died for our sins. Of course, on the third day, our Saviour rose again opening the doors wide open for us to be able to enter Heaven.
However, being a good person isn’t what allows us to enter into Heaven. Instead, it is faith in Christ that allows us to one day enter those gates.
Until Next Time Just Keep Soaring 4 Him,
