Fear…… It’s a powerful emotion. Fear can cause us to become crippled. Make us settle instead of ever reaching our true potential. Fear, if we allow it can actually consume us and then become our ruler.
All throughout our lives, we have been given choices. Choices to step out into unknown areas. Some of us have decided to face fear in the face and take the paths unknown. Others have decided that fear should win. Win because it is easier to stay away from the unknown and live life in safety and comfort.
What no one ever seems to tell you is that allowing fear to rule you never truly grow into the life God longs for you.
Scripture tells us…….
Say to those who have an anxious heart, “Be strong; fear not!Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God. He will come and save you.” Isaiah 35:4
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. John 14:27′Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
When We Allow Fear to Rule We Tell the World:
- That our God is not great
- Our God has limitations
- We do not fully trust God and His promises.
- We are not confident enough in our spiritual walk to know that God will always use things for His glory
- That they shouldn’t trust God because we don’t either.
Instead in these moments of fear, we must cling to God’s truths. We have to put into practice all that we have heard and read. We have to be willing to step and walk in faith.
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:34
But now thus says the LORD, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. Isaiah 4:31
